The project \u201cIndigenous peoples and local communities that care for the forests of the Chiquitania-Chaco-Pantanal-Amazon region in Bolivia\u201d<\/strong> It is implemented by SAVIA \u2013 Association for the Conservation, Research of Biodiversity and Sustainable Development, with funding from the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. The initiative takes place in the Bolivian lowlands, specifically in territories linked to the Chaco, the Chiquitan\u00eda, the Pantanal, and the Southern Amazon, regions of high ecological and cultural importance where indigenous peoples and local communities maintain a direct relationship with their forests, protected areas, water sources, culture, and livelihoods.<\/p>

The project consists of Strengthen the management of protected areas and indigenous territories against threats such as deforestation, forest fires, illegal mining, poaching, loss of ecological connectivity and pressure on natural resources.<\/strong> To achieve this, it promotes training processes, environmental monitoring, generation of key information, coordination with local authorities, strengthening of management committees, work with park rangers, support for women artisans, and community awareness actions.<\/p>

The intervention encompasses strategic protected areas such as Kaa Iya National Park, Otuquis National Park, the San Mat\u00edas Integrated Management Natural Area, and Noel Kempff Mercado National Park, as well as Indigenous territories such as Isoso-Guandare-Cuarirenda, the Turub\u00f3 Indigenous Community, and Bajo Paragua-Porvenir. Its approach seeks to consolidate conservation corridors between protected areas and Indigenous territories, promoting a connected territorial mosaic that contributes to biodiversity protection and the continuity of ecological processes.<\/p>

In its implementation, the project includes community visits, planning meetings, technical workshops, legal advice, and training in monitoring tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, OpenForis, and Global Forest Watch, as well as communication and awareness-raising activities. It also strengthens the role of women artisans, youth, management committees, and park rangers as key actors in conservation, cultural promotion, and the defense of their territories.<\/p>

The project, funded by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and implemented by SAVIA, aims to empower Indigenous peoples, local communities, management committees, and park rangers to protect their territories, conserve forests, and respond in an organized manner to environmental threats. Its core contribution is integrating conservation, territorial governance, community participation, environmental monitoring, and cultural valuation into a strategy focused on the sustainability of ecosystems in the Chaco, Chiquitan\u00eda, Pantanal, and Southern Bolivian Amazon.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
