This event brought together 36 rangers and experts from 18 Protected Areas across the Chaco, Chiquitania, Pantanal, Valles Cruceños, and Amazon regions, with the goal of raising the level of protection in our natural areas.

Strengthening Conservation in the Heart of Bolivia

The workshop began with an in-depth exploration of biodiversity monitoring. On the first day, participants received intensive training on the use of camera traps, essential tools for wildlife monitoring. The theory was complemented by the installation of the equipment at the Alta Vista Center itself, allowing them to immediately apply their newly acquired knowledge and reinforce the connection between training and fieldwork.

Water Monitoring: A Crucial Step for Conservation

The second day was dedicated to water monitoring, with hands-on training on flow measurement and the use of specialized applications for reporting data on water bodies. Participants not only acquired technical skills but also shared their experiences and challenges in protecting water resources in their respective protected areas.

Exchange of Experiences and Commitment to Conservation

A key part of the workshop was the space for sharing experiences. Participants discussed the real challenges they face in their daily work, from biodiversity monitoring to environmental conflict management. This dialogue enriched collective understanding and strengthened everyone's commitment to more effective and sustainable management of Bolivia's natural resources.

A Future with More Capabilities and Concrete Actions

Organized by the SAVIA Association, Nativa, the Chiquitano Forest Conservation Foundation, and DICOPAN, this workshop has been a crucial step in strengthening those on the front lines of environmental protection. The final session, which promises to continue building capacity, will be another milestone on the path toward more sustainable and conscious management of our invaluable natural wealth.
