In the Municipality of San José de Chiquitos, the Savia Association shared an initiative involving actions with women and young people, seeking to contribute to strengthening the conservation of the ANMI Kaa-Iya del Gran Chaco National Park and its connectivity with the UCPN Santa Cruz la Vieja.

To launch the transgenerational transmission mechanism from which high school students will be trained as Chiquitano Environmental Multipliers, an initial contact has been made with the Departmental Directorate of Education in Santa Cruz and the District Directorate of San José.

Regarding gender considerations, the project was shared with the two participating associations: the artisans of the TURUBO Indigenous Central and the San José de Chiquitos Women Artisans Association; as well as with the Santa Cruz la Vieja Protected Area Protection Corps. The initiative was also presented to the President of the San José Municipal Council, Luzmery Abrego, and the President of the Education, Culture, and Tourism Commission, Vilma López.

With the San José Municipal Government (GAM San José), technical progress has been made with the Tourism Representative to coordinate activities that align with a shared agenda, which will be formalized through an Inter-institutional Agreement. It is worth noting that the project has been well-received by all stakeholders, who have expressed their willingness to collaborate on initiatives that further promote socio-environmental awareness among the residents of San José and enhance the appreciation of the cultural and natural heritage of Santa Cruz.
