Defending Environmental Rights: Legal Action against DS No. 5390

In October 2025, SAVIA, in collaboration with ACGAPCHCHPA, submitted a petition to the Ombudsman requesting the filing of an Abstract Action of Unconstitutionality against Supreme Decree No. 5390. This decree, according to the analysis of environmental defense organizations, violates constitutional principles and international treaties related to the conservation of the territory and environmental protection.

A Legal Action to Protect Mother Earth

Supreme Decree No. 5390 has allowed for the relaxation of environmental regulations, facilitating changes in land use in protected areas and forest reserves, which puts Bolivia's natural heritage at risk. This legal process aims to suspend the administrative acts that promote these changes, seeking to preserve Forest Reserves and prevent deforestation and the encroachment on protected territories.
