Strengthening Indigenous Collective Rights: A Transformative Encounter
On June 24 and 25, 2025, a key event was held at the Bolivian Catholic University to discuss violations of Indigenous rights in the Chiquitania region. This meeting, organized by SAVIA in conjunction with various other organizations, allowed Indigenous leaders, legal advisors, and environmental experts to reflect on current legislation, land management, and rights violations in the Chiquitania region.
Accompanied by SAVIA
SAVIA was present as a strategic ally, providing logistical support and facilitating spaces for dialogue that allowed for a joint analysis of the collective and individual rights violated in the indigenous territories of the region.
Long-Term Impact
This meeting was an important step in preparing the technical document that will be presented at the EMRIP in Geneva, strengthening the defense of indigenous rights at the international level.
