Monitoring and Transparency: The Observatory of Environmental Rights Violations

During the second half of 2025, the Observatory of Violations of the Rights of Defenders of the Territory and the Environment, "ARANDU," was implemented. This digital tool allows for the registration, classification, and systematization of information on the rights of environmental defenders. This initiative was developed by ACGAPCHCHPA with the support of SAVIA.

Data Collection and Systematization

The Observatory was designed with a focus on verification and transparency, prioritizing reliable and documented sources. The website of the Association of Protected Area Management Committees is now a benchmark for monitoring human rights violations and providing public access to the reports it generates.

Expected Long-Term Impact

The permanent monitoring platform will allow for the systematization of cases, support for advocacy actions at the national and international levels, and improve the response to situations of risk for environmental defenders.
